Can't make up my mind if that's the real deal or not

Full Harrier spec includes the Yoshi camshaft (not mentioned, but I
assume it's in there), but this has been repainted - all Harriers came
in plain white.

The CMA wheels are correct.

A hell of a lot depends on the provenance. My Dresda 460 (spec as above,
but retaining the wire wheels and with a doubled front disc, which is a
hell of a good extra) was ready to roll with a short MoT and tax, and
went for £2100 to a guy who really knew his shit.

And I had the original receipts from Dave Degens for the build. I'd want
to see some good receipts for this one.

This one is likely to have some ring/bore issues if it's been sitting
for this long. Myself, I think it's the real deal, but I also think the
price is at least £500 too strong.

Did the original Harriers have the Yamaha tail light that this one
has? Not the most difficult of problems to solve I grant you but
curious.

Well spotted! Dunno, but I very much doubt it.

Exhaust looks like a Marving as well. I thought they had Yoshi
exhausts but my grey matter is not that good with the old long term
memory, or any memory these days, stuff. May even be a Yoshi that has
been matt blacked.

I would still be interested but as you say a good £500 on the overly
sweet side. Something nags with it, tail light, possible incorrect
exhaust after only 500 miles, no Mocheck stickers other than the ones
they put on every bike they sold, no paperwork to back it up. Hairs on
the back of my neck say something is wrong but I don't know why.

I worked at Mocheck.... The road going Harriers, I am pretty sure used a standard swing arm, not a box section as this one has. It's the wrong exhaust as well as the standard one had parallel down pipes. There was a racer in this scheme in the workshop as i recall and that had a box section arm. I think this is that bike - or a replica of it

I've just removed a nold Alfa 4-1 from a 400 Four. Looked just like this
one.

So the general vote is: Not A Real Harrier.

Here's the racer - scroll down the page third photo from the bottom

http://www.realclassic.co.uk/opinionfiles/mocheck_memories_part2.html

Spoke wheels, no fairing but looks like the same Yoshi exhaust and box section swing arm. Similar colour scheme. could be the same bike with some extra bits - racers rarely stay unaltered after all, or a Harrier with some mods. Or neither. :-)

Actually, closer exam looks like standard swing arm and a more standard looking silencer... So could be anything!

Er, Weggy, tht's the racer. Look at the cover of MCM and the picture of
a young-looking Ian Tay and two 'production' Harriers on the wall.

The one on the cover, and the right-hand bike on the wall, both have
alloy wheels. And the one on the cover has the fairing.

I still think this one is iffy, though.

Yes, that's what I said. White 'production' ones and a red racer in a similar scheme to the eBay bike
