Alas no. The name of the shop escapes me now, but it closed a number (5?) of
years ago. Although I work in Suffolk I have to go to London fairly often and
this was an excellent place to wait for the next train home!

It was called Hadley Hobbies. I reckon that it closed about 6 or 7 years
ago. The number of model shops left in London is perilously small; over
the last 10 years or so we've lost Alan Brett Cannon's at London Bridge,
Hamblings, Kings Cross Models, W&H and, to all intents & purposes,
Beatties which is not much more than a toy shop now. I'm not sure if
Puffers of Kenton is still there either.
As far as I know, all that's left in central London apart from the three
mentioned in an earlier post are Wheels of Steel, which is a secondhand
trader in Gray's Market, just off Bond Street (quite a good selection of
British and Continental secondhand at reasonable prices), and The
Booking Hall which is near Tottenham Court Road / Goodge Street, and is
peculiar in that I can only find it on about half the occasions that I
try to. I can't remember the name of the street at the moment -
something Place?
I would say the best model shop within striking distance is The Engine
Shed in Leytonstone, which is only a few minutes out on the Central line
and stocks all those bits and pieces which can be hard to find.
The Harrow Model Shop also has a good range particularly if you're
interested in London Transport, as they make their own range of
Underground kits.

IIRC this shop was Hadley Hobbies. I remember buying a load of JV catenary
in there in about 1979/80. I guess they've gone now, but the JV catenary is
around my mother's house somewhere!!!

Sadly not there anymore, I passed by there recently to see that it had closed.

Other would put a different gloss on Puffer {or at least the different
people who worked there}
'Puffers' still lives on in York, as will Collectors Corner soon, about
time the north had some of the action. :-)

The Booking Hall is in Charlotte Place, a small
pedestrian road that runs parallel to Tottenham Ct
Road. I visited over the weekend, but they were
not able to help me in my quest for 009 engine
kits. They do have an interesting selection of
second hand stuff - it was the first time I'd seen
any amount of (what I presumed was) TT stock.

My little sister lifes just around the corner from
there, so I may even get a meal out of a visit to
that neck of the woods :-)

Last week I saw another small (half unit) shop as I was driving
through Tottenham.
Called 'The Shunting Yard' in Lordship Lane, N17. No idea what its
like as was literaly passing by.
