I hope they manage to sort out the problems, as I always thought this
the best show in the south.

Public transport there was an interesting experience too...
Train to Chatham..... Fairly easy...
Bus to construction site / roundabout in middle of nowhere..interesting
Another bus to take you across the construction site to venue !
It sounds a bit loopy but it all worked and the busses connected
perfectly with a short wait in the middle.
Just as I arrived everybody was thrown outside for a false fire alarm !
(time for lunch....)
I had not been before so I can't compare it to last year but it seemed
quite full all day on Saturday. It looked like people were buying
things which is what keeps the traders there ?

How right you are. It was Chatham but not as we know it. Certainly not worth
GBP 6 to get in. Sunday afternoon was very quiet. I don't think I'll bother
next year.

I think its a little early to tell - in effect its a new show, but the
organisers do need to sort themselves out for next year. The venue could
never match that of the old Chatham show, and as I understand it the
trade was all booked (and presumably money changed hands) on the
expectation that the second hall would be available - it hasnt yet been
built, presumably the lyouts were cut back because of it.
I enjoyed this year, all the people I needed to talk to were there,
which was one of the good points of the old Chatham. Trade reported
mixed results as far as I can tell, some did well others not so. £6 is
very expensive for a dare I say trade show that size, if the layout
quality had been up to the old Chatham then it might have seemed more
reasonable.
The organisers were unlucky with the M2 closed on Saturday and the fire
alarm going off, the roadworks will presumably go away and the epic bus
trip to the carparks did seem to be managed quite well, but I understand
that coming by train there was no indication of how to get to the show,
and at the last 'old' Chatham the buslink to the station was always
quite busy.
My personal feeling is to give them another year, but to look for some
significant improvements in the layout content (numbers and quality)
without reducing the trade, or a significant cut in the on the door
price.
