You should live in Norfolk, a County with good rail model shops many
miles apart and somewhat short on rail sales or exhibitions of any
sort. A day out at Warley (at the NEC) is more than worthwhile even
with £12 to get in. I will be there after a 3 hour drive.
Stop whinging and realise that you have something that is actually
worth the money!!!
p.s. I don't scare easily
>Why shouldn't it??
I have been the last 3 years and shall be there tomorrow, I have a
advanced ticket £6 and will be going on the train, no hassle driving
or parking. Always a good place to pick up bits & pieces I can not
usually get, catch up on whats new, get expert tips and meet lots of
friendly people always happy to help......how can it be scary!!!
Oh and if anyone wants to have a go this year I'll be ready

I visted the Warley NEC exhibition each of the last two years & going
again tomorrow. I must be a scary person then. Oh and it's only
overpriced if you visit the wrong stands, I've picked up one or two
bargains there.

Before you buy.
I know what you mean - I went last year and was probably one of the big
middle-aged chaps push ing! I don't normally, but there's something
about the place which seems to remove most of the normal fellowship one
gets at a model railway exhibition.
I go to a lot of exhibitions and most are arranged in a friendly church
hall or school with wives and children around, and (usually) plenty of
time and space to see everything, have a cheap cup of coffee and a
home-made cake, chat with the others there, and potter around again.
The NEC is *nothing* like this IMHO - it's much more like a cross
between a January sale and a trade show where everyone is trying to buy
or sell as hard as possible and will get out as soon as they can at the
end of it. It *is* possible to get some bargains there, but it's not a
friendly place. Some good layouts there last year, but I doubt I shall
go again.
Just how I see it!
Any regular exhibitors there care to comment?
Anthony.
it's good Warley is only on once a year
