I once again turn to the newsgroup for help so dont fail me now!! I ve
just finished building and covering my first kit (Glens cap232), I am
however stuck on the canopy i want to paint it translucent blue but do not
know what type of paint to use. I would also like to know how it should be
fixed to the plane?
Thanks in advance...

Failing the 'paint' methods which others have mentioned you could try to dye
it with clothes dye. Not tried it myself, but recall a discussion from a
few years back on compuserve re this very subject. Most folks who had tried
it reported pretty good results.

I've had great luck tinting the thinner canopies using rit. I've found
that
dumping a handful of salt in the water helps alot! Use a meat
thermometer, the
kind that you use on those filet mignon's you eat off of your 3rd place
plaques. DO NOT let the water get above 150d farenheit. In fact, use a
piece
of the scrap you trimmed from the canopy to be tinted, and find out what
the max
temp is that the plastic can handle, keep your water temp about 10 to 15
degrees
cooler. I check mine about every 2 minutes, until I get the shade I
like. BTW,
I've found that the denim color of rit works great. It helps to use a
big (if
you can find one) pan that you can set on the stove to keep the temp
where you
want it.
Best of Luck,
