hi group! I haven't posted here so sorry for any intrusion but I need
help creating a power supply for an old metal detector I found at a
garage sale.
I have searched the net for any electrical diagram or any info I could
find about it but have found nothing. it is a Garrett Speed King 2D TR
widescan. evidently about 30 years old or so. the only numbers I found
were the Patent numbers on the bottom, 3662255 no model number there
is what looks like a slide inside the battery compartment with a 5
prong plug at the back, I was told there is supposed to be a tray
inside that holds 6 Nine volt batteries in a row. it would be good if
someone could help before I take it apart and try fixing it blindly.

thank you for any all replies.
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Not too sure that there's enough of the group left to
actually find a Garrett owner....
Have you tried the Garrett forum ?
http://www.garrett.com/

Good Luck...

Thanks again for pushing me in the right direction Jim. I joined the
treasure hunters forum from a link at garrett.com and the people there
went waaaaaaay out there way to help me. I posted some photos of my
dinosaur http://www.treasurehunterforum.com/forum2/3828.html one of the
people there contacted Garrett and they want me to send them my machine
so they can fix it properly. AMAZING!

:-)

They've probably got tons of gear to make it
as good as new for you !
