I've started using Amillitox on the shrubs in the affected area as a
preventative measure and I'm doing all I can to provide healthy growing
conditions so the shrubs can be strong enough to withstand the fungus.
At the moment the rhododrendrons, camellias, azaleas etc. etc. are
bearing up well but a thirty year old Pieris which used to be
magnificent is not looking too good. A tree peony (planted very close to
it) died of the fungus two years ago and last autumn there was some
fungi near the base of the Pieris which we treated.
If anyone has any suggestions about how to eradicate or successfully
live with Honey fungus, I would be grateful to hear from you - the life
of a young Monkey Puzzle (offspring of the original tree) is at stake.
