Given that they are closely related to trilobites, and are among the most
ancient of inhabitants of the world I am inclined to leave them alone. I
have heard that they spread fungus, but then fungii are interesting.

Generally they don't do much harm only as David said on some delicate
seedlings, sometimes. As for the woodlice killers - well it's been a long
time since I looked at any of those but they used to be broad spectrum
insecticides ie. kill anything including beneficial insects, nothing is as
far as I know specific to woodlice.

They can't. What they mean is it *will* kill wwoodlice, not that it
won't kill anything else.

Apparently they taste vaguely of shrimp when cooked, according to
that 'Wild Food' chappy with the posh surname. I am perfectly happy
to accept this fact unverified by myself. Even I have some standards.
