I'm told that Argos Super Stores have the Stradic 3000 for £63.

I paid about £65 each for my two Aero GTM 4000's by mail order about two
years ago. The Super Match RE (same as 4000 but no fighting drag and double
handle) is £49 mail order. Sorry !

I've got the Super GT 3000 which is slightly smaller, has feeder spools as
standard and has a 5.1 to 1 gear ratio instead of 6 to 1 with the Super GTM.
I've had mine for several seasons now and can't fault it. I thought at
first the fighting drag was just a gimmick but I've actually found it quite
useful. Best of all, as with all Shimano reels, mine's been absolute
reliable despite heavy use.

I've been using the Aero GTM 3010 for about 4 years now.

Absolute belter of a reel, it's took a lot of use and is still tight as a
drum.

Excellent fighting drag, double handle, three spools, etc I cannot fault it.

I paid around £80 four years ago, worth every penny!!!

You'll not go wrong with the GTM 4000

I was considering purchasing a Super Aero GTM. Can you tell me what the
difference is
between a 3000 and a 4000 as it is not clear from the catalogue I have.

I am after a quality reel for heavy float, light/medium feeder work for use
with 4 and 6 lb BS lines. Does this fit the bill? Would the GTM1000 be
more
appropriate or should I be looking at a different Model within the Shimano
range.

Any advice.

I have a Super GTM1000 and although it is a bit small, it's absolutely fine
for what I do - anything from light float work thru to canal carping (I
caught a 15lb carp using mine the other week). Mine cost me £50 about a year
ago, but I've not seen it at that price for a little while. I've currently
got 11lb (.16mm?) Big Fish Adventure Braid loaded on mine, and the spool's
about the right size to hold about 80-100 yards of the stuff.
Whichever one you go for you will love it. They are silky smooth!

As for the difference of the other two - yeh, I'd like to know the answer to
that too...

I had the same problem when choosing which of the Super GTs to buy. The
body of each model is the same whilst the flyer and spool are slightly
different in size. This means that the 4000 size would theoretically be
better at casting, would retrieve more line per turn of the handle and have
less line twist but be heavier. In practice I doubt that any the
differences are very much. With the Super GTM there appears to be no
difference in the line capacities, each size taking 110metres of 3lb line.
However there's quite a difference with the Super GT which is why I chose
the smaller 3000 model.
