I have been carping on & off for the last 30 years with some reasonable
amount of success.
Having achieved my goals on still waters I intend to spend the next
couple of seasons on the Trent.near Nottingham if anyone can help with
location or any advice I would be most appreciative.
Are there any stretches where night fishing is permitted?

The amount of carp that have been coming out around clifton weir has
been amazing throughout last season. I fished it one night had 2 carp
both just over 15lb and two Barbel one of which was 11lb 4oz. Night
fishing as far as I know is allowed but as I say I fished it and nobody
questioned me.

I fish a Notts piscatorial stretch both at Muskham bridge where the
main railway line crosses the river and just up at Averham with a
friend reasonably reguarly and I can confirm that there are some
massive carp in there. It would be hard work but the rewards could be
immense. The biggest I had out last season was 22lb and that was on
cheese paste when I was Chubbing. The reason the carp shoal around
there is because there used to be a handful of powerstations around
there and they have obviously never moved on.

Hope you catch !!!!
