Belgium tackle shops (help)

hi, folks
I am trying to locate fishing tackle shops in Belgium that provide a
mail order sevice. I am after a new pole and have heard that they are
pretty cheap in Belgium compared to the UK. If any one knows of an
address, telephone number or E-mail adress it would be very much
appreciated. (Thanks for the idea steve)

You could try Janssen Sport in Kessel. It is a big shop and they do have a

mailorder phone, I am not sure if they deliver to the UK but it is worth
to
give it a try. I often succeed there (it is close to Holland)

Near Overijse there is a town called Tervuren. In the neighbourhood is a
fishery owned bij the "Centrale Maatschappij voor Bescherming van de
Riviervisserij". They own a few parklakes wich are very well stocked (one is
near the historical museum of Tervuren). I think you need te be a member but
it might be they sell day tickets too.
I'll look for adresses and post them here.
The Canal Brussels/Charleroi is very well known for roach/bream pole
fishing.
Game fishing is bad in Belgium...
Carp fishing is good almost everywhere (Tervuren Park is known for carp).

I know Tervuren, my daughter will be going to school there. It is good
to know I will not be in a fishing wilderness. Is fishing a popular
sport in Belgium ? Is there a good tackle shop in the area ?

(only in Dutch..) There is very little info in English available on the net
regarding fishing in Belgium.

On september 16, 2000 there is the National Fishingsport Day (Nationale
Hengelsportdag wich is held in the "Park van Tervuren". There will be
demonstrations/expo's etc by most companies in Belgium. If you need info,
that's the date and place to be !

Fishing is popular (pole and carp fishing mostly) in Belgium.

In the South of Belgium (the Ardennen) you can flyfish for trout and
grayling. Fishing regulations here are complex sometimes, you'll have to ask
the "locals"or fishingstore-owners.

I don't think there is a tackleshop in Tervuren or Overijse, but there are
some in and around Brussels. Just check the Yellow-pages for "hengelsport
kleinhandel" (=fishing retail). Within 50km around Brussels there are lot's
of stores. Very well known is Jansen Sport in Kessel (near Nijlen province
Antwerp). They have all you might need (fly/game/pole/feeder/...fishing).
