One the bag it says "Boomerang Copra Meal, horse owners keep coming back".
The stuff is based on coconuts and is a fine brown powder that needs to be
soaked before feeding, about a handful at a time. Once it has been soaked
you can smell the coconut.
It is supposed to improve condition and keep on weight.
The feed merchant says that people have reported good results.
Any comment gratefully received

Yes I have fed Copra Meal, and did so when it first came into the country. I
found it did put weight on but the horses who did eat it all were lethargic
with runny bottoms and some wouldn;t touch it all, it does look pretty foul.

It seems quite popular over here in Oz, plus it's cheap!
It is supposed to put weight on and give the coat a gloss.
When we got our horse the people who had her fed her on it and suggested we
keep her on it, but to be honest I got a bag of it, gave her one feed of it
then ditched it!!
It has no vitamins and minerals in it that a horse needs, and I couldn't
believe how much water you needed to add to so little powder!! You do need
to mix it really well and let it stand for about half an hour or longer.

Hmmm, I also heard recently that seven futurity horses died after being fed
copra, I don't know the details but......
