We had a delivery of round bales of hay promised for the morning, so I had to
cancel :-(( first one I have missed for quite a while.

Ended up with the van full of chaff and stuff, took me an hour to clean it all
out. We used the van to move it between the two truck bodies, otherwise it is a
bit of a grunt job moving the large round bales by yourselves.

Peter,

Just think of it as a large complicated stationary engine on wheels and then
it does not seem so bad, I'll be there in a minute Darth Veda !

Having had such a useful toy for some years now, I can tell you that they
are wonderful things. Mine gets to do all sorts of little jobs from
manoeuvring the caravan and trailer to uprooting fence posts. The latter is
most satisfying. Simply tie the post to the 3 point linkage and select "up".
The post goes up and leaves a small hole. The tractor never breaks sweat,
just runs on tickover. There was one which made the governor open a little,
then up came the post complete with 2ft lump of concrete. The force was with
me that day.
Then there's the old digger. Now that's another story.
What was the expression about boys and toys?

Stayed at home to watch the end of the grand prix so got to Bromham about
9:30, quick chat to Martin P and a few non NG chaps, bacon roll and off
again after in under 45 mins!

Did I buy anything? 'Fraid so, a whole tenner to Norman Groom secured a 1977
facsimile copy of 'The Model Engineer' Vol. 11 (1904) and some part built
model engineering projects including the bones of a tiny V4 engine (3/4" x
3/4" bore and stroke), no heads or valvegear but probably intended for hot
fog. Why did I buy it - I'm no model engineer, not exactly ham fisted but
definitely think any thread smaller than about 4BA should be illegal - well
I briefly fantasised about turning it into a double alpha stirling engine
but in reality it will probably sit on the shelf for the foreseeable future
and be brought down occasionally just to marvel at the tiny 'knife and
fork' con rods!
