I came across this page: https://www.cyclingweekly.com/fitness/heres-science-behind-pawel-poljanskis-legs-veiny-343017 after trying to find out why a Tour de France cyclist's feet had gone purple (the image was part of one of those 20 interesting things emails).
All I can find is about the large veins. If my feet went purple I'd assume total loss of circulation and panic. Can anyone explain?

In article <op.0mc8g5hywdg98l@glass>,
Possibly an artifact of the lighting and/or photography.
