Ceramics
Paint a mug/plate
Use Marabu Ceramica paint, after painting, place mug in over for 30
mins to 'set' the paint.
I've often wondered if you can put a white kitchen tile in the oven,
if so, you could paint one, put it in the oven and when cool, put some
felt on base and use as a pot stand.
Terracotta Flower Pots
Paint/stencil a terracotta flower pot, put ribbon around it or
Spray gold/silver, fill with dry flower oasis, insert a candle and add
some pine cones/baubles etc around it. Use as a Christmas decoration.
Picture Frame
Hard to explain and I can't find the one I made to give you the
measurements. It's very easy though and you could practice on scrap
paper until you work out your template.
My frame was for a 6x4 landscape photo. The frame is made from thick
card and then you cover it with wrapping paper.
You will need a long piece of card, more than twice the length of
photo, has to be wider than the photo too (obviously!). The card has
to be folded in half so score down the middle. Cut a rectangle out of
the front card - enough to let your photo be seen but not fall out!
Place wrapping paper on table, pattern side down, set full length of
card (landscape) on top, with the cut out part to the left. Cut
around card; remember to leave enough to fold back onto other side of
card. Put glue on the card and then place on the wrapping paper (take
care around the scored part to ensure that the card will still fold in
half when stuck to the paper). Cut into the wrapping paper where your
cut out rectangle is, you will need about an inch all round to fold
back and stick onto the card. Cut into the corners and fold back,
glue the paper to the card. You should now have something that
resembles a frame (unless my instructions have been way off!).
To make the frame stand up you will need another piece of card covered
in the wrapping paper. Copy the shape from any frame. Part of it can
be stuck to the back of the card, the other part bent out to sit on
table (score a line across it to help to fold it before sticking on).
Glue some ribbon to the middle of each edge of the shorter part of
frame, this can be tied to keep photo frame closed.
Yikes! I think I've made that sound complicated, but it's not, it's
very easy.
Crafty Containers
Wrap a container (jam jar etc) with rope, use as a pen holder.
Wrap a bottle with rope, use as a candle holder.
Wrap a tin with a cloth or plastic measuring tape to make a sewing
kit.
Glue crayons in a row around a small tin to make a colourful pencil
holder.
Salt Dough
You could make some salt dough and make things out of that, things to
hang on walls or place a magnet at the back of them. You could also
make Christmas decorations. Cut out shapes, put a hole in them, paint
them and hang them up on the Christmas tree with ribbon/raffia . I
haven't made salt dough yet so I can't give you a recipe.
Lightbulb decorations (get the nursing home to save up old ones)
Use acrylic paint to paint the lightbulb, paint Santa's face or a
snowman. Wrap some wire around the coiled end and hang on tree.

I don't see why not. I used to do china painting and painted on ordinary
white tiles which I then fired in a kiln to 800 centigrade. So you
should be fine with an oven.
