Hi
Could anyone tell me of a UK supplier of glass painting kits? I have
looked in local craft shops but they cannot help.

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete

Your use of the words 'kits' implies that you are looking to paint glass
cold, with transparent paint rather than firing enamels to glass.
If so here are a couple of URLs for high quality paints made by people who
use them themselves, I believe.

http://www.glasspainter.demon.co.uk

or http://www.glasspainter.demon.co.uk/cat.htm
if you would prefer to go straight to Jane's catalogue pages.

Or there is Rainbow Glass at:
http://www.glasspaintingmaterials.co.uk

------------------------

I suspect you must have been trying to shop in Royston Vasey, didn't you
know that's "A local shop for local people - there's nothing for you there!"

Not necessarily. There's a French-manufacturered paint that *does come
kit-wise. See http://www.glasspaintingonline.com/paintcdv.htm

(Yes, I own the site. Yes, I'm its webmaster. But, no ... I don't import
or sell the paint or the kits. I just think it's an interesting approach
to a point mid-way between cold paint and traditional fired paint.)

I'm not sure if you'll have found anything suitable by now. However, if not,
I can supply a set of 6 x 150ml glass paints, which are light fast, not
waterproof, (but ok for a light wipe over) and don't need firing. If you
would like any further information, please email me at the address below.

Rainbow Glass have the best paints that you can buy. The quality of Pebeo
is nowhere near as good.

If you get seriously into glass painting then you must consider doing one of
the Rainbow Glass weekend courses.....you can learn so much and have a fun
time too!
