The first person that sends in the answer to the following riddle will
win an unframed 18" x 14" oil painting of their pet with free postage
and packing. The winner must agree to their name and the area in which
the live, being placed on this website. Your full address will not be
disclosed. The answer to the riddle is somewhere on my website.
I may look blue but I'm not feeling sad. I am quite shady but not too
bad.
I'm on top of the Earth, but also beneath. I could be smiling but show
no teeth.
I'm recognition for a job well done and I'm hiding away from the glare
of the sun.
Find out who I am and send it in. The first one right gets a free
painting.

No idea! I never saw the previous competition, but I assumed that as soon as someone had solved this riddle there would be something on the website to say that the comp was finished.

The competition has finished - just received this email from them:
"Sorry, but the winner of the competition has actually been displayed on
my website www.petportraits.org for some weeks now.
The winner is Mr. Nick Silvano of New York who sent in the correct
answer
(The answer to the riddle is "Oscar" the cat. You will find him on the
cats page of the above website)"
I feel quite embarrassed cos I didn't read the clue about it being a hairy
animal until AFTER I'd pressed send and so my answer of Bluebell Wood
must've looked very strange. :o))
