Snap - same number of large aged fish in a huge tank in the lounge... I was
wondering which of those to go for and decided to think about it later!

That's funny, that's exactly what we have too! Have you got one black one
to absorb all the bad feng shui?

Hubby's the expert on coldwater (he's got the pond outside) and I can't ask
cos he's at work. I'm more of the tropical, erm, not quite an expert, cos
mine's the tropical tank inside.

pop your black one in a tropical tank and he'll absorb a different colour!
Did this once (long story, very traumatic, lets not go there) and he changed
colour over a period of time to orange. :o))

I kept black moors - I loved the way they wiggle their bottoms when
they swim. Alas, I clearly wasn't very good at keeping them !!

Now I have a pair of chocolate Oranda (known in the house as Galaxy &
Truffle).

Mmmmmmm..... chocolate......

Nosey little buggars aren't they? ;o)
Make sure you never have the tank near the telly.......you spend all night
flitting from one to other cos they keep catching your attention out of the
corner of your eye. And if you ever move into tropical, don't buy clown
loaches............they lay upside down and play dead! Always reminds me of
that Billy Connolly routine about baby alarms............

Hi..

Speaking of fish-tanks, if you get new gravel make sure you check it
for snails before you put it in the tank, I bought some a couple of
weeks ago and they've bred like wildfire, going to take ages to get
rid of the damn things.

Drastic measure, (look away now if easily upset)................take all the
gravel out and boil it!!. Not only does it sterilise it, it also will get
rid of theose snails.............(pick as many out as you can before it hits
the cooking pot...)

okey dokey safe under the cloak of O/T here....

Sets the scene many many many years ago when I was more of a practical joker..........

I foned up my ex sis in law (not ex at the time) and put on a different voice. She was involved in animal welfare and rehoming
(based at home). So I says to her ;-) i wonder could you give me more details on terrapins. Oh yes she said no idea who I was, and
off she spouted about their care and needs for quite a *lengthy* amount of time. When she eventually paused long enough for me to
get a word in edgeways I said .......... nah I only wanted to know how to cook them! Man did the air turn blue and did she tell me
to go forth and multiple - still not realising it was me. She slammed down the fone and I had to fone her back and say @@@@, it was
meeeeee...... when the penny dropped there ensued a good deal more ticking off..........
Sad but true
;-)

Is this anything to do with how the "EX" got into the equation?
