He's only had 3 releases and only those two got to number one...the other
reached 38.

They might mean 'Bridge over Troubled Water which is the only Simon &
Garfunkel that got to number one.

I think the wording of the question - "Name one of the three records
that took Art Garfunkel to Number One in the British singles charts" -
implies that they don't necessarily mean solo releases, so "Bridge
over troubled water" counts.
