Will be in London for a couple of weeks in aug-sep. Are there any good
climbing gyms which can be reached by public transport w/o too much of a
hassle?

Good bouldering facilities and a relaxed atmosphere is good

Crowds in the evening and rip-off prices is bad

Thnx in advance

Mile End, the Castle, and the Westway can all easily be reached by
public transport (buses and underground).

Quick search here (http://www.ukclimbing.com/databases/walls/index.html)
has loads. Personally I prefer the Westway, but if you're on your own
and just fancy bouldering, Mile End's probably your best bet.

Castle fan myself, the prices are all much the same but the grades are
more reliable (ie realistic) at the castle, no way can I climb 6b but I
can at westway. Not saying westway is bad, just take the grades with a
pinch of salt. Bouldering at the castle is very good and varied, plus it
has the best range of lead and toprope routes.
