Regular readers may remember I had a pig of a job getting the RDS radio in
my Zafira to correctly set the clock (RDS carries a time signal and so in
the Zafira, this time signal is used to ensure the clock is always
accurate). All was well until this morning (after Summer time ended!) when
the clock/radio again failed to latch onto the time signal. So my clock is
an hour out and isn't reseting.

Now I know I can reset the clock by hand but I'm a techie nerd and I want
the RDS/radio/clock to reset it itself, as it's supposed to do! Anyone else
seen this behaviour and know how I can get the clock to pick up the RDS time
signal again?

Thanks,
Paul DS.

Not too sure on this, but when I had the same thing in my Vectra, it
only seemed to update on stations that also carried the EON signal
(mostly BBC).
Could be wrong, though and as I no longer have the car, I can't check.

Garfield,

I've been using the BBC stations and, until this morning, all was well (I
didn't drive the car on Sunday). This morning I'm not getting the little
"RDS clock" symbol from ANY station and the clock is not resyncing.

I have two suspicions...

1. The Radio doesn't sync. to the RDS time properly, period.
2. The radio looks at the time difference, figures an hour is so large than
it must have received the RDS time signal incorrectly and so ignored it!

Both would be very irritating :-).

Anyone know of any diagnostics functions on a Vauxhall CDR500?

WRT suspicion 2, I remember that the time in the Vectra definitely DID
adjust both backwards and forwards last October and April respectively
(althugh I do remember driving around for half a day wondering why it
hadn't updated only to realise that I was still on MW!)

Paul - mine is fine, suggest tuning radio four...... (CAR400 stereo in a
Zafira 1.6 comfort)

Thanks for all the "mine works..." responses. Since my has failed miserably
to lock back to RDS (and I've tried Radio 4, 3, 2, 1, Classic FM etc...)
I'll be getting it fixed next time I have to take the car in - March for a
service probably :-).
