Kia Ceed (Vr7) 2012 just about to get its MOT.

Yesterday (frost on ground) neither front door would unlock - rear
doors operating ok.
Climbed over seat and ran engine to get internal temperature up to
about 12 degrees and eventually could open drivers door.
Drove 20 yards and re-parked with passenger door in weak sun and left
for 1/2 hour. Passenger door then would unlock.

This morning it's zero degrees again (no rain overnight) but drivers
door unlocks ok - passenger side still not working even after intenal
temperature up to 20 C.

Google shows others with same /similar fault back in 2009/10 but I
have not found a clear resolution.

Does anyone have any knowlwdge of the fault? It is not frozen water
sticking the rubbers. The door mechanism does not clunk when the
internal/external handle is pulled.

Probably frozen condensation, when defrosted spray liberally with water
disperser (wd40) follow up with light lubricant like GT85

Thanks - did that and drivers side has unlocked ok last two mornings -
today had to scrape snow off.
Passenger side did not unlock yesterday but was ok this morning - will
maybe have to remove door panel and look at rest of mechanism.
Could do with a Haynes manual...
