Without anything else to go on, anyone got any ideas of common faults with
these - the car has only done 50K or so but the old dear revs the nuts off
it. I've searched around and have seen comments about the ignition coils
going and taking the ECU with them but the symptoms of this are said to
simply be 'bad idling', could I just have an extreme case here ....
Anyone got any good links to sites with Peugeot common faults would be
appreciated.
Cheers
-Dave
Most likely a failed coil pack- pretty common on these engines, though 206's
are more prone to it for some reason. Sometimes accompanied by other
electrical weirdness caused by the faulty coil pack spiking the electrical
system- look for dials jumping about, and the ecu appearing to shut down /
restart randomly whilst the engine is running. - easily seen on a scan tool
when plugged into the diagnostic port.
Change the coil pack and the leads- both have been modified at least twice.
