Does Sparkrite still exist?

My car alarm sounder unit has expired and I'm trying to get hold of
Sparkrite to see if they can supply a spare. The telephone and fax
numbers that I have for them are now unobtainable. Does anyone know if
the company still exists or are they now part of another company?

If I fail to get hold of them, the part I require is a sounder unit for
a Sparkrite AT125 alarm kit can anyone help?

Thanks

I believe halfords still sell sparkrite alarms...I know they used to..(thats
where I got mine from) ... about the sounder...is the AT125 system the one
i'm thinking of...the infared transmitter one...if so, I used to have that
unit on an old car...but I thought the sounder was a bit feeble...and as the
sounder is powered by a 12 volt pulsed output, I connected the wires to my
horn
(I had air horns then...and it made quite a racket...very annoying..but
thats what you want...to have an annoying alarm was the reason I have an air
raid type siren on my buggys alarm...old grannies run for the air raid
shelter..and every one looks to see where it is coming from!!)
but you could connect the wires up to any 12 volt sounder...the more
different to normal ones the better.
hope this helps...Gary

Maplin Electronics stock Sparkrite alarms and related bits. Grab hold of
their catalogue or I think they're on www.maplin.co.uk. Don't quote me on
that.

Sparkrites Helpline is 01429 862616. Maplin only sell the range SR 60 -
SR100 alarms.
Why not consider the Vixen MM37S it is a very good alarm, view the Maplin
site or have a look at there catalogue.
We can actually beat Maplin's prices on all there car alarm products.

Best of luck

There quite good as well. I've just put the one on my mates car, that
he bought from Maplins last summer. Quite good for a budget alarm, I
didn't like the remote though. Felt as if it would break easily

Do you think some of the lost episodes of Dr Who or TOTP are going to
turn up?

I've got a Luminition in the shed. The BSA Bantam racing book says
forget it as you will spend your whole life tracking down elusive earth
faults. Mate had one on a Royal Enfield GP5 that he raced in Manx
Classic Junior. Testing on campsite road at Douglas, it ran one way but
not the other. After sometime running up and down it was found that when
someone cast a shadow on the pickup it ran and when they moved away it
was a bag of nails. An aerosol can lid was painted black and taped on.
It completed the 7 laps of practice and 3 for the event.

I had heard something very similar, about thirty years ago.
OK. Beat this: I fitted a Ford VV diaphragm just last year.
