Hi!

I'm planning to drive from Holyhead to London in the next few days. Any
recommendations to whether I should take the M40 or the M1 from Birmingham?
Traffic-wise, road conditions etc. FYI I'll be leaving holyhead at around
8:30 am. Also if anyone could recommend me a good route all the way?

thanks

I can't advise on the desirability of the M40 or M1 but the AA and/or the
RAC have an online route planner which might take jams into account

I don't know which is shorter, but I drive from Wycombe to Kettering twice a
week and take the M40 everytime even though it's a bit longer. The M1 is an
awful motorway, full of people in the wrong lane :-) The M40, in comparison
is usually less busy and tends to be treated like a race track.
