[Quote1] "The only way to describe these van is very German but with the
English tradition. ie. door on the left side, layout of the traditional
English van, but the finish of German. Excellently finished thick
upholstery, Loose carpets with a wood finished floor. 14 cupboards all
around the top of the van (style of the end bathroom), some of these where
single, some double, some held the wine cabinet, one with the CD and quite
wide etc etc. There was even a shelf along the top of these cupboards. They
were not fitted up to the ceiling. English conventional sink and oven.
Toilet to the offside with a fully sealed separate shower and large wardrobe
with shoe cupboard. The only real downside to this van was a pathetic fixing
for the pull out table at the front. Even the demonstrator fixing had broken
after just 4 days of viewing. "

new range of imported caravans for the UK, which are claimed to 'combine
high German standards with British refinements'. The main players in charge
of Geist are three former senior managers from The Explorer Group, including
former Explorer MD Paddy Doherty. Expect to see the caravans on sale from
September.""
Could it be that we are about to see 'vans with UK design features, built to
decent German standards, available here?? If so, I'd certainly give them
consideration, if the price was right!
Interesting to see that the ex. managers of the Explorer Group decided to
get their new product built abroad. Remind you of anything??
[Quote3] "They've got three Geist models on display at Wandahome Caravans
at the junction of A1/M62; I looked at them today and must say they looked
vnice."
Anybody else know of, or seen and perused, these 'vans?? They sound
'VEEERRRRY interestink' as they used to say on R & M's 'Laugh-in'.
Cheers, Doc.
Burstner, part of the Hymer Group, also do a (small) range of 'vans for
the UK market, and have done for three years now.

Have a look at the hymer vans at Lowdhams. the only difference from
your spec is that they have the door on the right hand side. In use
this poses no problems at all.
