Where do I start looking? How does this system work?

It may be more complicated but is it better?
I would guess at a float with a magnet on it and a reed switch mounted
in the case. Check the float is free to move.

There is no float and no switch in the tank, just some sort of
magnetic rocker. Just how it works I do not know but it is very low
tech.

Good Lord, a new thread on here. First for almost a week - can't be up
to much :-)
Is he?
take the battery out, that will make the light go off

Wrong battery surely
The battery in mine is in the cassette compartment is the 9 volt smoke alarm type
battery
The cassette in my toilet gets emptied every day ,
Just as well as the level indicator doesn't work
;-))
DieSea
could be just a dirty connection on the toilet compartment battery, or bad
earth on it

But surely, you can *see* the level every time you operate the flap -
without needing a working level indicator.
I've noticed people emtying their cassettes every day. Strange! Mine lasts 4
or 5 days before it needs emptying. I don't believe in *making* work just
for the hell of it!

One reason it gets emptied every day its not to heavy to carry
Another is because it's emptied every day we don't use any chemicals
The last time we used the flush chemicals we had "The dreaded black spot" for ages
The dreaded black spot was discussed on this NG ad nauseum some moons ago
Anyway we're off to the North Yorkshire Dales tomorrow for 4 days , it should be
fun !

Ours gets emptied every day, we could probably manage every other day
but then it might end up full at a time when it was not convenient to
empty ( like the middle of the night ). The only way I could imagine a
loo lasting any longer for a couple would be for them to be using the
site loos as well, we never use any other loo when we are on site, it
seems a lot of hard work to me to walk half way across the site to
have a leak when I can just nip to the rear end of the van.
Nahh
But shed's fitted with a snorkel
SHMBO is doing her nut
But I'm off to play ( its the Wensleydale Wedge on Sunday )
It should be fun around the Ure , if the roads haven't been closed
I was going to stop up at a CL in Aysgarth , but decided that could be impractical
DieSea
We were going to stay at the pub Aysgarth , but had a change of mind
I didn't want to upset the landlord by turning his field into a ploughed area
So we're going to the Hawes CC site , that's if the roads aren't flooded
( ( What are we doing ?? helping the Safety Marshall's on the Wensleydale Wedge
( LDWA ) walk ))

Well, ours is about 18 years old - maybe later ones have less capacity?
Ours lasts us at least 4 days, even on sites with no loos - such as
Setthorns in the New Forest. Be we *are* generally out and about during the
daytime - and use public toilets when away the van - so the cassette doesn't
have to take *all* our output.

The bench type ones do hold a bit more, we used to empty ours every
other day. On the other hand we are generally in for most of the time,
going out for the afternoons so our loo takes the lot.
