Yes, the change to 4 for 3 and 7 for 5 nights in place of camping miles is
somewhat over complicated and will may only benefit anyone camping in
mid-week in mid-winter providing they book via telephone in advance (not
available on-line apparently) - The scheme was probably dreamt up by the
same person who was responsible for printing half of the magazine
supplement (Out an About) upside down, a few years back! So much simpler
with the Caravan Club system applying discounts for mid-week savers
automatically.
The pitch fee increase is possibly due to the rise in VAT from 1st January
but I cannot remember a reduction when it was reduced to 15%!

The sooner its members, along with those of the Caravan Club,
recognise that they are both about as much of a 'members club' as the
AA or the RAC, the better. They are commercial organisations, pure and
simple.

An often expressed view which flies in the face of the reality. If any money
made is ploughed back into member sites and services its not really a
commercial enterprise in the true sense. I would agree that both Clubs are
run on a commercial basis as pure size dictates this otherwise they would be
in a complete mess but that is different from saying the two Clubs are first
and foremost businesses.

If its about money its a business.............If it was anything other then
monies made would be used to subsidize the fees probably making a free
membership.

Of course they would after all free "membership" or even cheaper
"membership" would encourage undesirables and they couldn't have that could
they?
