I had a great holiday in the Isle de Re, in the Vendee,

I booked it via a well known independent travel company, but they did not
add a lot of value to the holiday.

The site we stayed at was Interlude.

I know the site prices, and I know how much I paid for the holiday (£1200
for a fortnight), so does anyone know the price of a Portsmouth - St Malo
and Roscoff - Plymouth crossing (with cabin and caravan supplements).

I estimate it would be cheaper for me to keep the van at home and stay at a
very nice Chalet on the same site. Trying to plan for next year.

Towing the van was a bit of an issue this year, because I has problems with
vision for 3 months, and did not know whether I would be fit to drive,
wheras my wife would be happy to drive in France - sans van.

Hope you can help with prices.

About £300, but it depends on the date/time number of passengers etc.

Have a look at http://www.brittanyferries.co.uk/index.cfm?article_id=351

Join the Caravan Club and book before Christmas for your Channel crossing. We
have not paid more than Ł170 for years. (Lowest price Ł95 by Hovercraft).
Ł169 by Eurotunnel in June.
Brittany Feries this year decided to not publish any prices. They tell you when
you ask for a ticket.Ripoff or what?
Plymouth/Poole/Portsmouth crossings are generally the most expensive. It could
be worth your while to consider Calais/Dunkerque even when travelling from
Bristol. BTW why book with a company? We are independent caravanners. No room
at one site?- go on to the next. Must admit we are mature(??) and are away in
June and early July-not the school hols.

what's wrong with making a profit these days???

If they make a loss then they go bust and out of business..

One less transporter

bigger mark-ups for the rest..

My P&O shares have been worth about two thirds of what they were last
December.
The market doesn't think they make considerable profits, where do you
get your information from or is it just a fit of pique?
