I have been with the C&CC for my caravan and for my home contents insurance
for years and, although it has gone up over the years, I blindly accepted
that it would be a competitive quote and through a trusted source. However,
this time the quote, at £315.00p, was a bit high even for me so I decided to
shop around and thank God I did. Eventually I've settled on the Caravan Club
quote for exactly the same cover for...£59.99p! Clearly I have been ripped
off in the past for being a loyal customer; lesson learned!

Morale - Shop around for any renewal, often your previous insurer/supplier
will reduce the renewal price to that of your alternative quotes. Can be
time consuming but cost effective! Keep any written renewal notices as
future proof of 'No Claims' entitlement.

Always best on any insurance to use the web comparison sites every year or
maybe two at most.
Even if you stop with same company remember for the caravan to reduce the
amount of its value, do not pay premium for value of £15K when they will
only pay out £8K if you have total loss.

I concur! More and more of my friends and relatives are reaching the
same conclusions for any and all insurance cover.

1) Never set up a direct debit.
2) Never accept the initial renewal premium.
3)After getting several better quotes, contact the current insurer and
haggle - their room for manouvre is often considerable!

I've been doing this for years with all my insurers, and must have
saved hundreds! And in the main, I have ended up remaining with the
same insurers.

Same here - always shop around. Loyalty is not recognised these days.
They see you as a milk cow if you just accept the renewal at face value.
