Has anyone got any personal experience of NR Awnings. I do not wish to start
a discussion on who make the best awnings as I the one that is always
recommended (Isabella) is out of my price range. I just wish to hear any
Good or Bad dealings with this manufacturer.

Many Thanks

ordered a new cheap awning with bedroom annex through the dealer we bought
the caravan from. it finally arrived the day we set off to France. opened
the box and a message fell out. ordered awning out of stock, free upgrade. I
thought fine, carried on erecting it. went to put up the annex and it was
for the original unit. Double checked the boxes and they both said the same
awning. They had not upgraded the annex, sent the dealer a card describing
the problem, when we got home we swapped the annex for an upgraded annex.

The awning goes up easily and is very good. it is fairly heavy but then it
was cheap! Martin

We have had an NR awning, and to be honest there was nothing wrong with it,
its just a case of you get what you pay for.
We now have an Isabella(cheap apollo from campbells) and yes it is good, but
i am glad i did'nt pay more than £500.
We allso have an Inaca porch awning and that is superb.
If i could start all over again i would go for the Inaca from Barrons.
Hope this helps
Cheers

I bought a caravan 2 months ago and have been out with it over the last
week, it came with a second hand NR awning. All is well, great awning, it
went up easy no problems at all.

Have had several NR awnings over many years and have always found them ok.
For the amount of times we use them they perform fine, I suppose if we used
an awning a lot then a dearer one may prove better but to date no
complaints.

Not had one myself, but people who have speak highly of them as a reasonable
priced item.
But they add they are cotton and not acrilic.

We are now on our third NR full awning in the past 18 years and we also have
a porch awning. They are excellent value for money. Also they are an
excellent company to deal with, I have been very impressed with their
sevice. Our second awning got damaged on one corner. We returned it to NR
and it was back with us within the week expertly repair and at reasonable
cost.

I have used Nr Awnings for 10 yrs and never had a problem with them. I
have had then made bigger and smaller with excellant service. Once it
took only two days when they told me a week to two and the other they
did whilst I waited.
My brother sent his for enlargeing and they replaced a skirt he had
ripped free of charge at the same time then found a small hole in the
old part of the roof and replaced the whole roof all for the original
quote and quicker than the estimated time.
I have been to the factory to purchase direct twice (its only 50 miles
away)and would not have any other awning or porch awning. I find them
excellant value for the money with excellant after sales service. Its
a pity other companies in the caravan trade don't follow Nr's
example(I dont mean awning companies as I have had no experience of
others)

We have had 3 NR full awnings over the years and found them to be of a very
good quaility and reasonably priced, we only changed to a Trio when we
changed the van a couple of years ago because we got such a good deal on one
when we were given an excellent trade in price (the dealer quoted that he
would have no problem reselling the NR due to the companys reputation) which
I think says iyt all.
The companies after sales service is second to none as a few of the replies
suggest, my experience was that we had a couple of poles bent during a
raging storm in Northumberland, contacted the company who sent us a couple
of new replacement poles absolutely free of charge!!!
We have recently bought one of their acrylic porch awnings for rally
weekends and again, it is of good quality, reasonably priced and good to see
that it came with lightweight aluminium poles.

Regards

Stan (another one!)

Ours is probably old, we bought it second hand.

It's easy to erect (Spouse does it). More important, it's stayed erected in
80mph winds and under a foot of snow - not at the same time.

The annexe is waterproof too and jolly useful.

We got ours from NR and have had no problems with it. As expected it
was a fraction of the price other dealers were asking. The staff were
extremely helpful and delivery was quick. We have had it a year now,
have only used it a few times but no problems with it at all.

In fourteen years of caravanning I have purchased two awnings both NR.
The second only two years ago and that was because I got a smaller van
not because it had given up the ghost. In making enquiries I was told
that they were nowhere near the quality of the others. Well they may
not be but they have done everything that I want, keep me dry, keep in
place in strong winds and give me lots of extra space. All at a half
or even third of the price of their competitors. They sell direct
from the factory now and this was simplicity in itself with a very
prompt return. Spent the £700 you will save on extra days away or a
lot of wine for those days in the awning.

We have decided not to use a full awning and now just use sunshade type --
much easier to erect and does all that we want. if we want some privacy ??
we just move the beach windbreaks across. no problem.

We purchased the first of these from NR and also when getting a new 'van the
second.

I would recommend NR as having no problems - easy to erect and good price.
