I need 2.5 litres of anti-foul for a speed boat. Do I really have to spend
over £50 ?

There must be somewhere that sells it at a reasonable price.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Boat jumbles are good for antifoul but don't get a cheap self eroding for a
speed boat, you need a good quality hard antifoul like Interspeed.

There's a place in Fareham, Hants that is selling 2.5 litres of Trafalger
antifouling for £25. I go by it every day on my way to work, so if you need
more specific information let me know and I can call in.

I have just received 3 litres of International CSC Micron antifouling from
Mailspeed Marine and it cost me 49.99 pounds (a bargain). They also do 2.5
litre tins for 45 pounds. You might need hard antifoul for your boat
though...
Contact at 01925 838 858 or www.mailspeedmarine.com (shops in Warrington and
Conwy)

We used Dulux WeatherShield Exterior Gloss on our GRP Wayfarer. Relatively
cheap but good quality and specifically designed for exterior plastic/uPVC.
After a thorough sanding we rollered it on then laid off with a brush to get
a beautiful mirror like finish.

If you keep it in fresh water or trail to the sea it will work fine. We got
the tip from a chandler on the River Severn who thought the fancy paints
were a rip-off. He did recommend an occasional dose of sea water to kill off
the river gunge.
