I've figured purchase of roughly 72 USD (~45 GPB) worth of seed every
1.5 months for my tube feeder. Watching the feeder brings me much
delight over my morning coffee (and the birds seem to agree!), so I feel
it is worth it. But you are right; it is not inexpensive . . .
