Tempus fugit and all that.
The Sand Martins always arrive here first, on or just before my birthday, as
old hands will know the 18th March :-)
Of interest there was a Swallow flying over St Andrews on Christmas Day
2000,
having been seen in the presence of a juv. from 25th Nov., probably did not
survive the cold snap which followed a few weeks later(FBR 2000)


Just got this in this morning.

Hello to all:

Just inform you that the first flocks of House Martins Delichon urbica have
arrived yesterday & today to Doñana area. First pre-nuptial migrants are
here.

Also, the numbers of Barn Swallows Hirundo rustica are increasing rapidly,
despite of the wintering birds (some hundreds) that stay all-year-round with
us.
