Is Audacity looking at your onboard Line In, or the iMic?
Thanks for responding. Its looking at the iMic driver - but ignoring
it!! Chris B.
You do not say if you are using a Mac, PC or Linux?
I have always used audacity with files and was unaware it could record
having always used other programs for this. I downloaded the current
stable binary version for a PPC Mac but could not see how to set the
recording parameters within the program (possible user error here).
Pressing the record button caused the program to core dump. I did not
bother to try the beta version. The source might work but the greyed
out "About" menu option indicates a less than whole hearted support of
OSX and I could not be arsed to install the required old version of
WxWidgets. I am using OSX 10.3 and the audio changed a lot in 10.4 so
the problem may be here.
Whatever, it failed for me as well. Using a separate recording program
is an obvious work around if this is viable for whatever you are
doing.
I have an iMic and it has always worked fine with the Mac but there
are several versions of iMics with different chips internally and so
this is not saying a lot.
