Of course a real Radio Armature would build a better one out of half
an aubergine and a scrap VHS recorder ;-)

GP Book end charger by any chance ?

I have one of those, charges in 45 min.

Me and a chum are starting to have suspicions that
the charger hammers the cells too hard resulting in
premature death of the cells.

My chum has now bought a La Croix unit, same as yours I believe.

I'm waitng for some long term feedback on it before investing
in one.

I gave him 4 Vapex 2900ma AA cells to play with last week.
They were about 1 year old, used a few times but ALWAYS kept
tooped up are immediatly charged after use.

The GP book end charger didn't want to know them.

The La Croix analysed them and said that 3 of the cells were
now 2600ma, and the fourth was 2850ma.

I think these superfast chargers are really intended for users
of digital cameras etc, where a fast turnaround and state of
readiness is primary to the long term health of the cells.

The latter being of more importance to skinflint radio amateurs
than the "I've got a new battery eating digital camera and I've got
momney to burn" users.

Dear All,

I used to have BL-700 which I used for over a year, it slipped from son's hand, fell down on hard floor, it cracked the LCD display, so I had to get another one and I bought the Technoline BC-700 Intelligent AA-AAA battery charger New UK Version (UK & EU) 2 in 1, from Amazon, I found out, BL- 700 and New UK Model BC-700, both are 100% same, there is no difference, what so ever.

Main battery charger unit, instruction book and power supply 100 % identical.
I even used the old BL-700 power supply with the New UK Model BC-700, It worked fine.

BL-700 comes with UK plug only but BC-700 New UK model comes with UK and EU plug, 2 in 1, for the price of one, BC-700 is a better value of money.

EU plug can be handy when you are in Europe, on work or holiday.

Search for Technoline BC-700 Intelligent AA-AAA battery charger New UK Version (UK & EU) 2 in 1, on Amazon and see it for your self.
This new UK Model BC- 700 is value of money, better than BL-700

this new UK model can be bought on the following link:
