I don't have the manual for this hand held and I am wondering if anyone can
tell me how to extend the RX to the manufactures full specified frequency
coverage and how to switch to AM. Want to use it to monitor airband.

thanks

To extend RX:
1/ Press in and hold down function key
throughout the following sequence:

2/Press KL key

3/ Press # followed by the number 212

4/ Press KL again twice

5/ Switch off. When you switch back on the
wideband TX/RX will be enabled.

For AM RX press function and hold in while
pressing the PS3 key.

Well, that explains THE GOOD DOCTOR'S
fixation with me, jumping in with sour comments
at every opportunity - clearly by his knowledge
of equipment, and how to amend it for
illegal operation, he's a CBer, no more, no less.

Say no more!

But Gareth, isn't G4SDW himself a self confessed CB user?

>jumping in with sour comments at every opportunity

Again, isn't this a common trait of G4SDW?

The extended RX is extremely useful for checking
harmonics and other nasties, particularly when
building HF transmitter stages (and no I don't
have a spectrum analyser). If you were a real
radio ham you would have recognised the benefit
of using extended RX in such a way.
