Hi All,
Have four redundent Philips FM1000 rigs that have been used prior to mobile
phones.
Can they be converted and put to amateur use?
Is it worth doing? or send them to the bin?
Any info gladly received,
Rog G0FNO

Yes you can find your local Simoco service centre (ex Philips telecom) and
they will have either a portable data programmer or a PC based data
programmer and they will be able to set these up to TX/RX on 2m for you.

Power output is nominal 25W but they will go to 30W and you get 100
channels.

not a bad set and the fascia is remote mountable too if you can get your
hands on a separation cable

Watch out for the Band 3 trunking radios mainly ones with the keypad. These
cant easily be converted as they need a new control PCB as far as I am
aware.
