does any one have any info on this psu , bought it at a rally cant
seem to find much info on the internet about this model W25SM , NOT
w25nf or w25am ....... i belive their all the same switch mode psu
with extra output sockets .

am looking to make the fan not as loud or may be control the speed or
even just a switch on or off but i may forget to turm on . lol . so
just to control it would be better .

The W-25 is a 25A power supply. At the sort of currents an FL will be
needing, it ought to run pretty cool. So, at least for the time being,
the fan probably won't ever need to run at full speed. The obvious
simple short-term fix would be to drop the voltage by adding a resistor
in series with it.

Watts are not the problem even with out a load the pud fan spins
instantly . Yes Ian I did think of the inline resistor . Buy could you
recomend a value or could I even use a pot . To turn up and down as
required . Thanks for all the interest .
