Having a clear out of the loft, and came across a Zetagi B300P (CB)
amplifier which I bought many years ago for parts (I remember the gold
heatsink caught my eye...)

Amazingly, it worked when I tried it with the FT-817, and has a useful
gain and output, and good input VSWR all the way down to 160m.

The circuit appears to be broadband, though will obviously need some
additional switched low pass filters on the output.

Has anybody got any experience of using this type of amplifier on
bands other than 10m? Any drawbacks, other than the lack of output
filtering?

Beware the cheaper CB amps - most are nowhere linear!
