She just nearly got it but not quite. The European Christian mind reigned
over abstract idealism but she couldn't see it. She was too intellectual.
Not until Gramsci sussed it out in jail would there be any progress from her
position.

Here is the relevant passage that shows the genesis of Gramsci's analysis of
why Communist uprisings failed in Germany...and why Hitler was so successful in
using the cohesiveness of religious faith and zeal to resist Communism. He
transferred their religious belief into himself as a saviour from their misery..

Gramsci had it right. And this is why de-Christianisation of the Western mind
since the 1960s has seen the rise of * isms* in the West.
