This is a plea to any prison officer (or anyone who may know one) who
works in the London area. It is a final resort really and I just hope
that someone can help me.

Four months ago my son, aged twenty-three was sentenced to three and a
half years in prison. I won't go into the details here but suffice to
say that he was lead astray and bitterly regrets his mistakes.

But he has basically lead a sheltered life, and is not really very
strong. In prison I know he is likely to be bullied or worse by those
elements more predatory that he. As a mother I absolutely cannot bear
to think of him alone in there with those kind of people. The
authorities, I know, can do little. According to them he will be left
to his own devices.

I am seeking to make contact with a London-based prison officer who may
be in a position to offer him some protection. I just would like
someone in that environment who might 'look out' for him, and protect
him from the rougher elements.

Perhaps we could come to a mutually beneficial 'arrangement', I do not
expect such services to be given for free and am perfectly willing to
discuss whatever recompense might be appropriate.

If you are reading this and are not a prison officer, but know one,
please pass it along. I am almost out of my mind with worry over this.
