Is this just a Tesco thing, or has it disappeared completely from the
scene? I think we should be told.

A search on www.mysupermarket.co.uk of Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Ocado
(Waitrose) couldn't find the product in any of these supermarkets.

a goggle shows that Bertolli was a Unilever brand, but was sold to a
Spanish food group. Perhaps they don't want to sell in the UK

That's a shame. We really liked it. Looks like we'll have to slum it and
revert to Lurpak.

It may be a Tesco thing, we was looking for gravy browning and
was told what isle it was in but still unable to find it.
After three weeks of looking without success we went to the customer
service and asked them to look it up on the computer system.
Apparently they have discontinued stocking it.
We went to Morrison's and got it there along with the rest of our weeks
shopping.
We found there products better, better prices, better service, in fact
better all round, have now dumped Tesco and are now Morrison
shoppers.

Ah -- more items to be added to my list of great deinventions.
Allioi -- gone.
Mustard and mint -- gone.

It looks like the name has changed Ian.
ASDA are selling Bertolli spread online so they should have it in the local
store:
http://groceries.asda.com/asda-estore/search/searchcontainer.jsp?trailSize=1&searchString=bertolli&domainName=Products&headerVersion=v1&_requestid=15549
or http://bit.ly/9KqDdU
If you click on the normal spreads (not the light version) the first thing
you'll see is "Bertolli - the new name for Olivio".

My favourite supermarket too Wally, I find they have a good selection of
most things at reasonable prices

Cats have purr-sonality =^..^=
IMHO too Morrison's is the best of the lot for value, quality and customer
service.

People will forget what you said.
People will forget what you did, but
People will never forget how you made them feel.
I went only once to the new giant Tesco store about a mile for here, and
found it a less than thrilling experience.
I shop mostly at Morrisons, but some stuff I get from Sainsburys, their
bread is better, I find.

I never liked Olivio. I preferred Flora. When the Flora Buttery came
out, Little Squeak wanted to try it and that's what we get now. We
also have Lurpak :))
A lot of Googling suggests the Olivio was not Bertolli and that some
(most/all?) supermarkets have dropped Olivio in favour of Bertolli's
spread. Bertolli is a Unilever brand. Olivio Premium Products are an
independent American company.

I got a bottle of Sainsbury's own brand Port among my Christmas pressies.
It's the only supemarket own brand port I've drunk since.
It is far superior

Do you have a girl in every port? :)
It's ok having real butter if you are a "we", but if you're only a "me"
it goes off before it gets used for frying or the other things for which
spread isn't much good.

Try cutting the block up, wrapping it in greaseproof paper and
freezing it. It doesn't take long to thaw and it won't go off.
I have to say I've never had butter go off. I get the block butter
(either Sainbury's or Tesco's cheap own brand) for cooking with, not
that I do a lot of cooking that requires butter. I use it in mash
because it doesn't taste right with Lurpak and Terry calls Flora
"axle grease" and won't have it <G>
Or a port in every girl ;-)

I use mostly use Flora Low Salt, or Flora Buttery.
GMTA.

But not if that girl happens to be a female laptop!! <G>
standing up, for a bloke ?
I used to like it but the last bottle we bought put me off forever. It
was an Australian Port from a garage in Mount Gambier with an attached
off license... I should have known better.
It was acidic and full of sediment. I desperately tried to filter in the
hotel rooms coffee maker without success.
Derek
Open ports can encourage misbehaviour ;-)
Goodness me. What is all the song and dance about?
I'm of an age when rationing was the vogue and choice was not on the menu.
I learned to accept what was on my plate and not to be so ungracious as to
turn my nose up at anything.
Sure, I have my preferences but, I still eat what is put before me.
And as Grannie used to say, "An' may the Lord be thankit."

I can well imagine that any port, no matter how good quality it was to
start with, would taste pretty awful after having had the hotel rooom's
coffee maker filtered into it!

If that's the case then it is still available on Sainsbury's website. I
don't know about Tesco or Morrisons because you have to register with
them to explore their online shopping pages. Sainsbury's allow you to
browse their entire shopping site without logging in.
