John I
Hi Boo. Don't laugh but my wife's art class which consists of
a mixed age group of highschool students from juniors to seniors
( 1/2 credit course is the reason) has paint by numbers as a beginners
learning tool. She brought home an example of a paint by numbers
which she told me is an important component of her curriculum. These
number paintings are not easy & the kids benefit by the use of the brushes
along with tools that look like the kid is a bricklayer. <g> They also gain
confidence because the finished painting looks good. Many of her kids
are just plain talented. This number stuff is not for them but it does help
some or at least that's what Bet tells me.
One of my remarks was "for crying out loud, Bet, you can teach a monkey
to paint." She quickly came back with "well guess you better get started."
:)
She can be a real pip. :-)
John
Silly boy.

I am not laughing, even with something as creative as painting , there are
techniques which will have to be mastered before you let your creativity
rip :-)

She sounds like a good teacher John, finding a level at which they can
produce something to be pleased with is a great start, that can be built
on but if the stakes are too high to start with its easy to get
disheartened and lose interest.
