Is it giving you problems with dropped connections etc. ? Perhaps the

No - it's just a router id. My isp is Zen, but my router shows up as
TNCAP (and then some other letters/numbers).

It is hopefully not open for you to connect to!

The router is a Technicolor router and I imagine they all come with
similar id's. The actual broadband supplier could be anyone.

It's just the name of a nearby router.
A couple of neighbours have commented that I appear to be living in the
doghouse.

No, it just shows up what connection are in the area.

and my neighbours are wondering what the hell Boowifi is:-)

I have used the same SSID and password for years, no matter where I am
currently living and no matter what gobbledegook is inbuilt in the
latest router the ISP send me. When you are moving up and down the
country as often as I have done its SO much easier to just change the
router to suit than to change all the devices you have :-)

This WiFi is so bad I am the only one home and Is lagging horribly .i have been lagging for 2 months now
