I've just received a william from British Gas. I may pay by sending a
cheque to them by post (least ways, I think I may) but their letter
doesn't tell me who to make the cheque payable to, nor where to send it.
If anyone gets their gas from them, and knows of a postal address to
send cheques to, I'll be pleased to be told.

Just as 'beautiful' points the way for aesthetics and 'good' for ethics,
so do words like 'true' for logic. All sciences have truth as their
goal; but logic is also concerned with it in a quite different way:
logic has much the same relation to truth as physics has to weight or
heat. Frege in 'Thoughts' (Der Gedanke)

They would have found this useful:

Thank you. That is the required data.

I have just paid the bill for the forth time. I have written to IPSL
asking what they think they are doing, but IPSL is not British Gas. If
anyone knows British Gas's address for complaints I'll be happy to be told.

[The first three payments were made by post. That one letter may get
lost in the post I am prepared to accept, but it is implausible that
three should get lost. The fourth one I paid just minutes ago at a Post
Office, so at least I have a receipt this time.]
