I'm 25 years old student from Poland.
I'm studying special education at the University of Special Education
in Warsaw.
I've finished Conservatorium of Music (piano and flute) and also
Technical College (IT).
I could take care of a child with special needs (with ADHD, authism,
etc...)
or intellectually gifted child (I'm member of MENSA)

I'm looking for job in UK from June.

If there is any possibility you can help me ... please let me know,

Luke

You need to write to the individual County councils who employ all staff
working in schools, unless it's for a private school or private arrangement.
Many of them have on-line sites with vacancy lists too.

You are looking for learning support assistant posts, as well as Special
needs assistants. Different councils call the posts different things. For
example; they might have the funding for a 'classroom assistant' which
might entail general classroom duties if the child is not too disabled and
only needs help now and again. Remember that sometimes special needs could
be anything from a severely disabled child to quite an abled bodied child
with artificial arms who only really needs someone to help with things like
going to the toilet and doing up buttons, in which case you may find an odd
advert is specifically for a women or a man, depending on the sex of the
child..

Perhaps you should buy some of our county newspapers where these jobs are
usually advertised once you have decided which area you want to work in.
Also the Guardian newspaper http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/on a Wednesday has a
section in G2 of care related jobs.

In the links of this site there are some agency links

Remember that wage is often determined by the area and the further South you
are the more likely that your living expenses will be very high. Also if you
take work in the city centres like London and Birmingham your living costs
might be higher than a wage for a special needs teacher/assistant.

Something for you to consider is that our Government is giving teacher
training grants for people who want to become fully qualified teachers, but
I don't know if they apply to overseas students too

We have a minimum wage in this country of £4.10 an hour at 18. Sorry I don't
know exact amount for under 18's, but you can find out from the local job
centre. Some employers think that they can employ oversees students. There
is some advice here

Good luck
