According to WHO, more human disease is linked to avitaminosis than
any other single causative factor. A subclinical stage of avitaminosis
is a chronic condition resulting from vitamin insufficiency that may
later lead to acute or frank deficiency. The question is, how often
are these illnesses appropriately diagnosed and treated at any stage?
Recent studies show that misdiagnosis is a common feature of modern
medical practice. The list of nutrient-deficient diseases that
follows represents a broad range of symptomatic illness that might
express as myriad other diseases not commonly understood for their
relationship to serum or cellular nutrient levels. A number of good
online resources discuss various diseases that are treatable and often
curable using vitamin and mineral therapy alone. Indeed, as metabolic
health (homeostasis) can be maintained only with proper levels of
vitamins and minerals, it becomes clear that drugs, not vitamin
supplements, are the "alternative." We should hold our drug-friendly
media accountable for falsely characterizing natural medicine as
"alternative" and thus misleading the public.

I meant to add the link below. Also, note that chronically low
vitamin and mineral levels are actually a greater disease vector than
frank deficiency. For instance, according to WHO, most of those whose
health is adversely affected by low iron levels are not anemic. BTW,
in addition to cardiovascular beriberi, there is good science
supporting cardiovascular "scurvy," ie., heart disease resulting from
low but not immediately life-threatening vitamin C levels. Vitamin C
intake high enough to avoid frank deficiency (scurvy) can still be LOW
enough to result in disease and reduced lifespan.

Having enough food does not ensure adequate vitamin or mineral
levels. Disease rates in the USA, for instance, are evidence that
*quality* of diet is as important as *quantity* of intake. THINK.

I did not snip this because I believe your persronal attacks say more
about you than I ever could. You can find yourself in the "Warning"

As for dietary intake of nutrients, if it is sufficient, then by all
means do not take supplements. I personally eat well but choose to
take supplements as a way to ensure optimal nutrition. Adequate
nutrient levels will prevent most disease, but optimal levels will
ensure longer life. It's entirely up to you.
