A friend of mine has asked me to look for a
NG, email groups etc regarding help & support
for Bi-sexualise with particular reference M-F and F-M transsexuals,
and sex changes.

Hope the above makes sense to someone.
I've tried to help but just put my foot in it as it were.

If you don't feel like posting any info to the UPG,
then please email me at
whisk...@bottlebank.empties.fsnet.co.uk

Please put out the empties before replying :)

Cheers Dave

soc.support.transgendered would be a good place to start, I'd imagine.

IIRC, the preferred terms are, generally, now "transgender" and
"gender realignment" ("sex change" is a phrase I haven't heard used
for years).

Probably the best place to start, yes. Depending on exactly what Dave
means by "Bi-sexualise", soc.bi might also be appropriate.

And Dave - If you're posting any questions to either of those groups
then I would suggest that you think long and hard about *exactly* what
you've written and how you've phrased it *before* you hit 'send'. Some
of the regulars on those two groups have a famously low tolerance for
clueless newbies...

For website resources, you might want to try:
http://www.pridelinks.com/Groups_and_Identity/Transgender_and_Transexual/
and, possibly, http://www.bi.org

Transsexual

surgery (also incorrectly used as an umbrella term for pretty much
everything listed here)

Transgenderist
impersonating the opposite sex, gender identity same as biological sex

Transvestite
getting jollies out of dressing as the opposite sex, gender identity
same as biological sex

Intergendered
Gender Identity niether male or female

Intersex
not being male or female physically (naturally), gender identity can be
anywhere between male and female)

Androgyne
person not being/appearing to be either of the two popular genders

Arenotelicon
alternating between male and female

Epicine
partaking of both sex/gender characteristics

Genderfuck
person who sends out deliberately contradictory signals as to their
sex/gender

Gender Outlaw
someone who defies traditional gender roles

Gynandroid
same as androgyne (or according to the androgyny RAQ, Whoopi Goldbergs
child by Brent Spiner)

Hermaphrodite
Intersexed, little used these days as people mistake it for the mythical
Hermaphrodite (greek god/goddess having both sets of genitalia)

Homovestite
person who obsessively compulsively wears clothes of their own sex

Salmacian
transsexuals wanting to become intersexed

Scrat

Ah so youd be in the "people who cant be classed in one of two groups"
part of society. I know someone who changed the toilet signs to reflect
that.
