Due to communication breakdowns and general disorganisation, it may be that
myself and one or two others may only be able to make it for a day trip to
Whitby this year. And it'll be our first time at that. Should this be the
case, can anyone let me know what's not to be missed during the daylight
hours?

Thanks in advance people.

Whitby fish & chips. The Abbey. The surrealism of finding a goth in front
of you every time you turn a corner (and the surrealism of not finding a
goth around every corner when you get back home). The Elsinore. The Angel
(when the Elsinore is too full). The charity shops (lots of them, and all
the black stuff has migrated to the front). The locals, and the curious
holidaymakers. There are some interesting shops in the old town (over the
bridge and on the way to the abbey). The Bizarre Bazaar in the Spa centre.

the sight of Marge actually alive?

By evening, I'm usually dead after spending all day in the spa, where, in
fact, one can purchase many gothly items at the bazaar.

so, yeah, there *is* stuff to be missed during the day. get there by 2pm on
a saturday and you cna still hit the shops, get a nice dinner somwhere and
then make the evenings events?

Sadly, it looks like we'll only be able to get there for sunday. Two of us
can't get saturday night off work at the same time, we have no accomodation
and the driver has to be back in Hull for an early start on monday.
